Our Community
God has called Ottawa Reformed Church to love and care for not
only our members, but members of our community as well. Ottawa
has many outreach opportunities in which to get involved,
whether through volunteering or financial support.
Kids Hope USA is a one on one mentoring opportunity where mentors spend one hour a week with their student who is considered 'at risk'. Ottawa is partnered with Roosevelt Elementary School in the Zeeland community.
That Thing in the Spring and A Ball in the Fall happen each year as excellent community outreach events. Guys (or gals!) with mechanical abilities provide Car Care Plus in which they change oil, filters and bulbs in cars for those who need a little help. Stylists give free haircuts, and health care professionals check blood pressure. It is an opportunity to serve or to be served.
Special Offerings are designated each month by the deacons for a mission need. This offering is collected on the third Sunday morning of the month. Some of the ministries supported include: Love INC, His Harvest Stand, the Holland Rescue Mission, Family Life Center, and Youth for Christ.
