INSIDE RENOVATION WORK HAS STARTED! December 31, 2025 The old sanctuary will become our new Fellowship Hall. This wing will be the new library. This wing will be a storage room. January 8, 2026 The new location of our coffee and juice station. Pastor Mike still hanging out in his old office. The old library will be additional office space. Pastor Jim is all moved in to his temporary office. The old Hospitality Center. The temporary office of Kristi, Barb, and Kristin. A part of the old office will become the women's restroom.

Youth Jr. High Youth Sunday School is a place for middle school students to deepen their understanding of who God is, the Bible, and the church's beliefs. We meet in the Junior High Room in the GRACE Center (GC 104) from 11:00-11:45 AM. Junior High Youth Group is for students in 7th & 8th grade. Join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 PM in the Youth Room of the church's lower level. We meet September 17, 2025 - March 25, 2026. Please see our church calendar for exact dates. Our time together consists of games, teaching, and small groups. We play a variety of games to build friendships. During our teaching time, we focus on the Great Commandment: How to love God, love others, and love ourselves. Small groups are when the night's teachings are discussed and applied to help students grow in relationships with other believers. Other opportunities include fun events, local service projects, and a winter retreat. Join us as we learn about God together! Friends are always welcome! GEMS - Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior Ottawa Reformed GEMS welcomes girls in 2nd-6th grades. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM in the GRACE Center from September 17, 2025 through March 25, 2026. Please see our church calendar for exact dates. This year’s theme is “Walk on Water: Stepping Out to Trust Our Faithful God.” “Girls everywhere are battling the storms of life, being tossed and turned by waves of lies, doubt, and fear. We’ll discover how ordinary people trusted an extraordinary God and lived for Him, even amid life’s storms. We will be inspired to trust God’s faithfulness and confidently step out in faith as we discover His consistent character throughout Scripture.” This year’s theme verse is Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” Special activities include a fall pumpkin walk, the Pinewood Derby, and more! Cadets The Ottawa Reformed Cadets is for boys in 2nd-6th grades. Our Cadet ministry is led by a committed group of men who maintain a goal of leading boys to walk in the light of Jesus Christ. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM in the GRACE Center from September 17, 2025 thru March 25, 2026. Please see our church calendar for exact dates. Activities include a lesson from our Quest Bible Lesson and time used to earn badges, build crafts or explore God's creation. Special events include camping trips, Fall Fun Fest, Snow Derby, and the Pinewood Derby. The official sport of our Cadet group is Dodge Ball! Kids' Archery League will meet from January 6 to February 10, 2026. We meet in the GRACE Center gym from 6:30-7:30 PM. Bring your own compound or traditional bow or use one of ours! Kids' Archery League Bibles & Bows involves archery & Bible study! All adults and children 10 years old and older accompanied by an adult are welcome to come shoot. Following the “bows”, any or all persons that came to shoot are encouraged to join us in studying God’s Word. Join us for six weeks on Tuesday evenings in the GRACE Center gym. Bibles & Bows meet February to April. Archery is from 6:30-7:15, Bible Study from 7:15-8:00. Pastor Mike is teaching from "Parables: The Greatest Stories Ever Told". We hope you will join us! Dance class is for boys and girls, ages 5 and up. All skill levels are welcome to join. This is a fun class that helps kids learn gymnastics skills, dance technique, social skills - all while worshiping Jesus Christ! ORC Players ORC Players is not currently meeting. The Ottawa Reformed Church Players is a collection of youth and young adults that express their love for Christ through acting, dance and song. The group consists of up to 30 people between the ages of 5 through early 20's. The make-up is not only members and friends of ORC but, also represents kids from surrounding communities. The group puts on a number of different types of quality performances throughout the year. Shows range from full scale plays with singing and dancing at local theaters, to smaller performances during church worship services. ORC Players is open to any youth with or without experience. The group consists of a nice combination of experienced actors and actresses, and people with little to no experience. No auditions needed - just the desire to have fun & entertain!

tHE lIBRARY AT orc "Check out" our collection of fiction, non-fiction, teen, t'ween and children's books. Our non-fiction section is filled with devotionals, spiritual & family books. We've recently expanded our teen & t'ween fiction sections with many new exciting series. We are constantly adding to our existing series and adding new authors. We have over 100 family friendly DVD's & VHS tapes and over 150 children's DVD's & VHS tapes. "Check out" our puzzle library too! Ottawa Reformed Church has a library that offers many books, books on tape, videos, tapes and CD's, available for all ages. The Library is staffed following each worship service. Mike Van Buren was born August 31, 1952, in the small town of Waupun, WI. Mike is a third-generation citizen as his grandparents were all born in the Netherlands. He is also a third-generation RCA member as all his family became RCA members upon their arrival. Mike attended Waupun Christian Schools from first through eighth grade and went on to graduate from Waupun Public High School in 1970. From there he attended and graduated from Hope College in 1974 and Western Theological Seminary in 1977. Mike was married to Noreen Straks in 1972 as she (also from Waupun... yes, high school sweethearts) joined him in Holland, Michigan and worked full time while Mike went through college and seminary. Mike and Noreen were called out of seminary to Glen Lake Community Reformed Church in 1977 and served the church until September 1982. On October 2, 1982, he became the Pastor of Ottawa Reformed Church where he served until December 31, 1997. On January 1, 1998, he took the call to Fellowship Reformed Church of Hudsonville, MI and served there until June 3, 2018. On September 1, 2018, Mike became the Executive Pastor of Ottawa Reformed Church under contract. Mike and Noreen were blessed with two children, Carlia (Van Buren) Schippers and Brad Van Buren. They are also blessed with four grandchildren, Jack Schippers, Breslin Schippers, Brayden Van Buren, and Haley Van Buren and in-laws Jamison Schippers and Karla (Kooiker) Van Buren. The children live locally, and Mike and Noreen stay intimately involved in all of their lives. Yes, I am back after 20 years and I pray God blesses our path as we walk it with each other and with our Lord. Mike

Learn how here! 2026 Winter ORC LIGHT Brochure (class details & locations) Our Wednesday Night Offering, collected from January to March, 2026, will support Austin and Tate Bonnema with Overland Missions/Tribal Chaplaincy! Tribal Chaplaincy is a ministry focused on reaching African tribal chiefs and leaders with the Gospel, training local Christians to serve as their personal chaplains, empowering them to lead their communities toward Biblical principles, and fostering cultural transformation, starting in Zambia and expanding across Africa. By bringing spiritual advisors (chaplains) directly to chiefs, they aim to influence entire chiefdoms, leading to widespread spiritual revival and the integration of faith into traditional governance. Student Registration Form Cancelation Information : In cases of inclement weather, a decision regarding cancelations will be made by 1:30 PM on Wednesdays. If Zeeland Public Schools are closed for the day, Wednesday Night Programs may or may not be canceled, depending on weather and road conditions as the day progresses. All Wednesday Night Programs are automatically canceled if students are sent home early from Zeeland Public Schools.
